ADELINE’S POV

“You know, I keep wondering about the next time you’re going to kick something and kill another person.” Colton’s voice is the first thing I hear as I’m taken out of my slumber. I don’t hurt as much as I did when I was brought here, so I guess the doctor is doing his job well.

“I didn’t mean to kill your friend, but you know what? Give me another chance, and I’ll do it again without blinking.” I say. The fact that I was raped, kidnapped, and killed someone in the space of two days makes me want to vomit, but I can’t act like I’m weak in front of these people. I need to figure out their agenda, what they want with me, and how I can get away, and for that, I have to be mentally strong.
