There was no way in hell I was letting Lyric go in there alone. No way.

'We don't leave mate.' Duke says with finality. Agreeing with me.

I felt a little guilty about the way I handled Lyric. She just didn't understand that even looking at her was driving me insane and goading Duke to claim her.

I didn't want that.

I didn't want my wolf to mark her without his consent and definitely didn't want him mating her in front of the warriors. My actions were shameful, but her actions were seen as a challenge, I was a hot-blooded male with a dominating wolf who was just as highly ranked as an Alpha. I just snapped wanting nothing more than to make her submit. It was my primal nature to control and command. When she didn't show me respect my tether of control snapped.

Pete climbs out of my car and seconds later Lyric is hopping in. Her scent immediately fills the car and wraps around me.
