Chapter 121. Carrying On

Max’s Apartment

           The melodious songs of the little birds greeted the neighborhood with the hope of a new day. Helen rolled on the bed and faces Max who was barely awake.

“Good morning sweetie,” Helen greeted with a gentle smile written on her face.

           When she realized Max didn’t respond to her greetings, she brought her lips closer to his ears and whispered. “Good morning sweetie.”

           Max has hardly slept since Jezebel showed up in town and now he has to put up with the dark witches. Sleep has been far from him. But last night was a different thing. He had to come home before bedtime.

           He could barely drag himself to bed. When Helen came home from her meeting with the white witches, she found Max sleeping on the couch fully dressed.
