Chapter 168. Transfer Completed

Anna didn’t trust him. Not even a little. But she had no choice. If there was even a sliver of a chance that he was telling the truth, she had to take it.

And if he was really telling the truth, then this was good. 

Her phone vibrated in her grip. Kevin had sent another text. “Transfer is processing. Should be done in a few minutes.”

Anna showed the screen to the guard. He barely glanced at it before nodding.

“Good. Now we wait.” He smiled. He seemed chilled about the whole thing. But she could see the excitement in his eyes.

She could tell that this was his big run; that he had never gotten this kind of money before.

She didn’t care, yeah, it was a lot of money but to buy her freedom from his blackmailing, it seemed fair. Almost fair.
