“I can accompany Gran too,” she said, looking away. I was expecting her to retaliate, and I was ready with my answers.

“The ambulance can only accommodate 3 people apart from the patient,” I stated matter-of-factly.

“You can take Martha with you,” she argued, not giving in at all.

“Nope. You are coming with me and that’s final.” She quietened down after my ultimate statement and I was glad.
