Chapter 19. Our First Outing
Cassandra’s POV
The next day, I couldn’t contain my excitement. The whole day I was restless and couldn’t concentrate on anything. Finally, I was free and rushed home early to prepare Max’s dinner. Aunt Caroline offered to feed him while I freshened up. Later, I completed my last-minute packing as well. I packed food and milk in case we needed it on the way. It seemed as if we were going away forever! Aunt Caroline chuckled at my huge luggage.
“It seems Julian is whisking the two of you forever,” she joked. I blushed yet couldn’t tell her that Julian wanted to, actually. In fact, I was dying to surrender to his wishes if only Aunt Caroline’s welfare wouldn’t haunt me so much.
