Chapter 108. His Words

Marco POV

I walk into a room, see Caiu, and walk towards him. A hand stopped me and dragged me away from him forcefully.

"Lascialu Stari.” Caiu looks at the soldier, and their hands drop from me. I moved slower this time, as I am sure it looked like I was about to attack him. “We will speak English, Sí, make you feel comfortable. Also, these specific men don’t speak it.” Caiu points to a seat, and I take it. Why wouldn’t he want the guards to know what he is saying? I sit confused, why is he trying to hide our conversation from his guards? He never would do that before.

"I'm surprised to see you, Marco," Caiu states, and I sit shocked.

What? "You said to come."

"I did, although something told me you would refuse to leave so quickly after you married her," Caiu replies and I feel lost for words.

My head shakes. "You requested that I be here. I am here, regardless of what is happening at home."

"Which is why I am surprised." He moves sligh
