Chapter 22. Time Together

I wake alone, and an empty feeling spreads through me. I peer around the room and notice Alice is already up and gone. Sighing, I get ready. Jogging down the stairs, I almost slam into our father.

"Training." I stare at him. "Lorenzo, you have been slacking recently. You're training all day." I glance through and see Alice with Luciano.

"Can I have an hour?"

"Let's make a deal. You can have two, but she stays here." Shit, I glance through to her. "She is safe, Lorenzo, your brothers are here, the soldiers are here, Capo, everything, so stop worrying." He looks at me, waiting.

"Okay, two hours, then I come without her." I turn to walk away, and his hand stops me.

"Eat, Lorenzo; if you keep fucking about, I will cancel this fight. You seem to be uninterested in it anymore. If so, just say."
