Chapter 14. Dinner Conversations

Lucia POV

I’m instantly overwhelmed as I step into the room. There is laughter and talking. I see multiple people positioned around the large wooden table. As I step closer, I sense it is African Blackwood. Stupidly expensive.

Chewing my lower lip, I watch Marco pull a chair for me. There are five men, not including Marco, and four women. My eyes don’t settle anywhere. Instead, they flicker around the room, searching for a safe spot.
