Chapter 15. Flashback

Everyone has finished eating now and is just talking.

“We’re going out by the pool.” Felicity and Iz stand.

“I’m going back to my room.” I rise, and Felicity stops me.

“Don’t hide in the room. Come sit with us. We will only be drinking and talking.” She smiles and almost drags me outside to the recliners.

Sitting, she laughs.

“God, the men are so tense. Out here is better.” She laughs, and I see their mum walk through to the pool. She sits, keeping her eyes on me but not saying anything. I feel like I should hide away.

I’m not family. I’m not a friend. I am very much here against my own will. I don’t walk away, though. It would be rude to, so I sit and talk to Felicity and Iz. At some point, Roxy comes out and joins their mum.

Now, I’m getting double daggers. They really don’t like me, and it’s making me uncomfortable. I try and ignore them as best as I can. Glancing up, I see Roxy frowning at me.
