Chapter 59. Hoping for Peace
She will be fine, and I know that Luciano will be fine with her soon as well. Moving, I put him down and watch as he plays with his toys. Moving, I sit with him and pull Alice to our side.
"That's his favourite toy." I point to the duck. "He has a thing for cookies, a recipe from our nonna. Elmay has perfected it, and Luciano eats most of them."
I laugh, remembering how, in one day, everyone had given him one. No one had thought to check if anyone else.
"What else don't I know? Or did I miss?" she asks, and she stays staring at him watching as he plays with his toys.
I think about it. "As you can see, he can sit up alone. He's trying to crawl and almost has it figured out. He no longer wakes at night. His last bottle is at about 10, then he's asleep until 7."
