Chapter 69. Engagment Party

The engagement has been going well. The biggest thing was when Marco announced who I was, who my father was. Everything went silent and people began to stare at me. Then, I watch them talking and often I was the centre of their conversations. Which I don't know, but I guess I can't stop them. 

I met Arlo and politely accepted his request to dance. I had expected him to say something, but he was polite and never once spoke in a worrying way.

Afterwards, I was guided around the room by Marco. People congratulated us. I lost count of the number of times people kissed my cheeks. Marco whispered quietly that it was their traditional greeting. After I knew that, I didn't feel so awkward when it happened. It's just one thing I didn't know about this world, and about my heritage.
