Bella's presence has obviously annoyed Calix. She only needs to be near him when Kaira is around so he can see the jealousy in his wife's eyes, but he doesn't want to be near her at all when his wife isn't there. He dislikes the fact that she is constantly around him and James.

Calix is making an effort to sound enthusiastic when he sees Bella, but he is failing terribly because a grimace is visible on his entire face. "Bella, I didn't realize you were around." he comments.

She stepped closer, brushing her arms against his. "I just got home, and I've heard that my stepsister's ex-boyfriend is around to visit her.
