Chapter 54. Take the Chance

Shantelle's POV

There is still some sweepingly beautiful music playing in the background. Gavin came over to me and extended his hand to shake mine.

He said, "Will you let me have this dance?" 

He was beaming his warm smile in my direction. And just because of that, I found myself becoming a little bit more irritated with him. 

I reached out and took the hand that was extended to me, and he pulled me to my feet.

He took my hands and placed them on his shoulders, then he took me by the waist and softly held me. The music was gentle and played at a leisurely tempo.

We got going right away. The song has a romantic feel to it. I had no idea why my heart was racing at such a rapid rate. 

In spite of the fact that I am well aware of how corny it sounds, I appreciate it. This is something that I had only ever seen in movies, and it's a cliché. That wasn't an innovative concept at all.
