Chapter 61
Max heard the sound of her vomiting, and he quickly followed her, knocking on the door.
"Are you okay?" he called out, concern lacing his words.
"I'm fine," Carmela called back, her voice hoarse.
"We should go see a doctor," Max said, worry etched on his face. "This isn't normal, and it could be serious."
"No, I'm fine," Carmela said, her voice stubborn. "I just need to be alone for a while. Please, just leave me alone."
Max hesitated, but he could hear the pleading in her voice. He turned and left the bathroom, closing the door behind him. He went back to the living room and sat on the couch, feeling helpless.
As Max sat on the couch, a thought crossed his mind. What if Carmela was pregnant? He remembered what the doctor had told him days ago, about the effects of the memory wiping on her body.
