Chapter 7

"You know I'm here for you, right?" Sarah asked. "No matter what happens, I'm always here to listen and support you. And I'm sure your friends and family will feel the same way."

Carmela felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. "Thank you, Sarah," she said. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

"You don't have to worry about that," Sarah said. "We're family, even if we're not related by blood. And family is there for each other, no matter what."

Carmela hung up the phone and grabbed her keys, heading out the door. She drove to the police station, her mind racing with thoughts and worries.
