Chapter 66. Cooling Off

I burst through the trees in my wolf form and dart through the forest. Alpha Trevor’s words roll around in my mind while anger consumes me. How can my father even do something like this to me? Has he ever even cared about what I want or what is best for me?

I don’t have to think long as another wave of anger rushes over me. No. He has never cared about me. His only thoughts are about himself and what will help him. The only reason I’m the pack’s alpha is because the elders told him I was of age and the title needed to be passed to me. We also had an alliance with the other two packs, so the three alphas share responsibilities for all three packs. My father didn’t like it, but he finally accepted it after Jacob and Hunter’s parents threaten to break the alliance agreement if he didn’t transfer the alpha title to me.

My eyes sting and glisten.

Alpha Trevor still hasn’t told me the exact terms of the contract, but he has told me the basic outline of it.
