Chapter 22

Catherine went home feeling so fulfilled. She didn’t know why, but she knew she was very happy to see him again. All the hatred she felt for him suddenly disappeared when she saw him and when she mentioned the name Eve. She could see his reaction, and she knew he would call her, whether he wanted or not. She sang and danced, twirling with a happy smile on her face.

“I will make sure I get you back, Jones.” She looked at her wall clock, “Should call soon,” she said. Just then, her phone rang, revealing a strange number. She picked up the call with a smile on her face. As if knowing he was the one, she called his name.

“I knew you’d call me,” she said, sitting on the chair as she poured herself a drink. She couldn’t hide the smile on her face.

“Who are you? And how did you know the name Eve?” Jones asked.

“If you want to know, you’ve got to come to me and hear it. I will text you the location.” She ended the call, not waiting to hear what he had to say.<
