“Honey, how was the meeting?” my mother asked when we finally returned home.

“Unexpected turn of events,” Dad answered.

“Don’t leave me in the dark; tell me what happened?” Mom was interested.

“The Moon Goddess has finally appeared and has chosen someone,” I answered.

“Wow, that is great news! Who is it, then?” she asked.

I could not answer, so I went to my room.

I overheard my mother asking my father, “What is wrong with her?” but she got no reply.

“It is not fair if you two are going to keep me in the dark!” Mom shouted.

There was just so much I had to know and learn. Shellwood was the biggest werewolf settlement in the entire nation. There were five werewolf nations, and Shellwood was unique in the sense that its Alpha would still be the leader of the entire nation.

However, not all the inhabitants of Shellwood lived in the luxurious city of Shellwood. In fact, about two-thirds of the nation’s population lived outside the wall
