Chapter 6
He possessed a look Mia had never known in all her life. An inexpressive look was stuck on his face—unyielding and unsmiling. His formidable aura ruffled Mia a bit, but his warm green eyes soothed away any form of fear that was beginning to levitate in her. This was not the case for many people, for they were unable to see the warmth his eyes bequeathed. Mia had looked beyond the stone-cold face of the man before her and probed into him to see those shimmering lights in his eyes.
“What the hell are you doing here?” He demanded, keeping his tone under control to keep him from getting angry that his quiet time had been ruined.
“Oh, I’m sorry… I wasn’t watching my steps, and I fell into this pool. I had no idea anyone was in here. You see, it was very dark, so I couldn’t see. You wouldn’t blame me for that, right, and,” she began to waggle her tongue, getting him irritated, and he stepped out of the water.
