Chapter 63

Mia had no idea when she ran towards Alex and hugged him tight. Alex stood there expressionless without holding her back. Emotions threatened to surface, for he had no memory of when last he was hugged in this loving and caring manner. He fought back all the emotions and left them bottled and buried deep in his heart.

"There shall be merriment!" James announced loudly and it broke the hug Mia was giving to Alex. She had been too worried about him to control her emotions or refrain from holding him to know if he was alright.

"Are you alright?" She asked him.

All he did was walk away, without a word to her, his father, or even his mother. It was not as if his parents took notice of him. They were too entangled with each other to even notice him much.
