The next morning, after breakfast, Hendrix returned to the pack house. "Good morning, Alex," Hendrix greeted as he saw Alex walking down the stairs.
"Where have you been?" Alex asked him.
"I just stepped out," Hendrix replied.
"Since when?" Alex asked as he raised a brow.
Hendrix squinted his eyes. "Since yesterday. Why? Did you need me?" Hendrix inquired.
"Is there a time that I do not need you?" Alex asked him.
"I'm sorry, Alex. For a week now, you have not lost your temper. I did not think that anything unusual would happen if I'm gone for a night," he replied.
"Where have you been, Hendrix?" Alex inquired with a serious face.
Hendrix walked away from the door. "I was at the brothel. I went to have one of the whores for the night. Satisfied?" He asked, but Alex said nothing. "Why all these questions anyway?" He asked as he turned around and looked at Alex.
