Chapter 78

Mia walked down the stairs, her heart racing hard against her chest. She was surprised to see Alex standing by the foot of the stairs and she became nervous the more. She got to the foot of the stairs and Alex stretched forth his hand and she was startled, but she did not show it as she placed her slender hand on his. 

He helped her cross the last stairs and Karen was pleased by what she saw. James was glad to see the chemistry going on between them. 

Alex led Mia out of the pack house without sparing a glance at his parents. James held Karen's hand when she walked down the stairs. "You look as delightful as ever, my darling," James appraised Karen's beauty.

She smiled. "Thank you, darling. Shall we?" She asked him.

He nodded and with a huge smile plastered on his face, he walked out of the pack house with his wife in his arms.
