Mia suspected that the letter was because they were trying to find out the truth about the death of the red wolves. "Alex?" She called his name.
"It's just a threat letter, Mia. It shows that we're on the right track," he replied with a shrug.
"It's not just a threat, Alex. These people could kill just to ensure that the truth is not revealed," she said to him.
"Well then, it's my duty not to die until everything is cleared," he replied and she stared at him, knowing that he was not taking this matter seriously.

The next morning, Alex arrived in town, on his horse, Lightning, and he went straight to the store of Sawyer, the man who could interpret handwritten words. He got there and alighted from his horse. He handed the horse over to Jonathan's keeper. He walked into Jonathan's shop and saw him working on one of his many failed inventions.
