Chapter 82

Alex and Mia returned to the pack house and he helped her down from the carriage.

Her legs felt numb from sitting too long in the carriage and as she tried to walk, she missed a step and almost fell, but Alex held her, stopping her from falling.

It was as if everything halted and she could only see him and no one else. Alex stared into her hazelnut eyes and he Could feel warmth spread around his heart.

"You should always watch your steps. I may not catch you every time," he said.

"What if I like being caught by you?" She asked him, her fingers gripping his chest.

"I may let you fall next time," he replied as he pulled her up and straightened up. He walked away and Mia placed her hand in her hair. "Is it what I think it is?" She pondered out loud.
