Chapter 81

After breakfast, Mia went into her chambers to pick up Alex's jacket. She left her chambers and walked towards the study room. She had seen him going there after they were done eating.

She knocked gently on the door. "Come in," she heard his masculine yet silky voice through the door. She opened the door and walked in.

He was standing by the window with his back turned against her. "Um, I came to give you back your jacket," she said and he turned around, looking at her.

"You can drop it there," he replied as he pointed to the couch.

"Okay," she said as she walked over to the couch and dropped the jacket. She turned in his direction and noticed the look on his face. "Are you alright?" She asked him.

"I'm just thinking about last night. That was another attack and it seems to be meant for you. You're a target," he said as he shrugged his shoulders.

"I thought about it too. But, why? I do not think that I have wronged someone or done anybody harm," s
