To add insult to injury, Bart came up to them then and kissed CC on the cheek, taking her hand in his. There wasn’t a drop of animosity between them. Seriously it was annoying. Who are these people? Did she not care that he’d spent the entire day with another woman?
“Hi Ria,” Bart said.
She smiled at them tightly.
“Good morning.”
The two women’s eyes met. CC didn’t know if this was over for Aria, but it was for her.
“I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to say this, but my condolences on the loss of your family, Your Majesty. Please let me know if there’s anything I can personally do to make your stay in Caines more comfortable.”
