Chapter 48. Day Three (Endgame) (3)
“I don’t know where your brother is or what’s going on with you guys, but-”
She took his hand and put the watch around his wrist.
“No sense in holding onto it if someone isn’t going to wear it.”
His eyes met hers, connected with hers for a moment and then he lowered his gaze to the watch. She was going places she shouldn’t be, attaching herself to him in ways she shouldn’t be. Why couldn’t he stop her?
She was moving again. Aaron wanted to go to her, pick her up and shut her down before she found something else she really shouldn’t, but he was frozen in place, watching her walk through his head, tap at the door of his heart. Adele picked up an earring on his bedside table, spun around, an eyebrow raised at him, anger flashing in her eyes.
Aaron laughed.
“You’re cute when you get jealous. I meant what I said though. There hasn’t been anyone else since that night at the club.”
He went to her again, took the earring out of her hand and spun her
