But Aria went completely unnoticed as CC took centre stage. When they reached the mansion, Aria waited outside the bedroom as Aaron barged in on CC and Troy. Troy was stationed at her bedside while he and CC stared daggers at each other, apparently still in a fierce debate about the ending of their engagement.

“Caroline!” Aaron exclaimed, his arms going around her. “Shit CC, are you okay?! I swear I’ll kill him!”

“Good luck with that. Been trying for years myself.” said Troy apathetically.

He’d had time to collect himself and going back and forth with CC about how they were/weren’t engaged almost amused him. As long as he didn’t think about why he was doing this, being with her right now was no different to being with her for the last four months.
