“Say I convince her to come in and she finds Kate. Then what? Last time she walked away she had to flee to escape you. What happens this time, Madz? Your concern is touching, Your Grace, but coming in or not coming in is Keira’s call. Not yours and not mine.”
Keira held onto both of Aaron’s hands the whole drive back to the hotel. Nathan offered to take them home. As soon as they walked through the door, the packing started. He went to her and stopped her.
“Let’s just take a second here, okay? How are you?”
Keira gave him a dumbfounded look. Has anyone ever asked her how she was after a shoot-out?
“How am I?”
“Your twin just shot at us—”
“You, she was shooting at you. Katie wouldn’t shoot me. At least not deliberately. Are you okay?”
“Right. Obviously. You’ll forgive my concern. Last time I checked, ‘not deliberate’ bullets still kill people!”
