Shantelle’s POV

As night fell, my unease deepened. Uncle Salvador wasn’t back. I knew he told us not to worry, but I couldn’t just let go of the thought that there was a possibility I might not see him again. He said not to worry about him, but I couldn’t just keep calm.

My phone was vibrating. Is this what I would be going through? It was Seven calling—not a prank call, not a prank text—it was Seven finally deciding to do the honors.

I was indecisive about what to do. Should I pick it up and tell him to fuck off, or did I want to listen to what he had to say to me? I wasn’t good at making decisions when all I wanted to do was hang out with him.

“Seven, what’s going on?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

“I am in our spot. Do you want to come out so we can talk?” he said. He was in our spot.

I didn’t need to think about why he was there or why he was calling me after days of ignoring me. I should go and talk to him.
