Sean’s POV
We ran, our footsteps echoing through the deserted streets. Shantelle’s hand was still clutched in mine.
“Where are we going?” she asked.
“Somewhere safe,” I replied.
Seven’s voice came through my earpiece. “Sean, Rachel’s team is closing in.”
I quickly hacked into the nearby traffic cameras.
“ETA?” Seven asked.
“Five minutes,” I replied.
We picked up pace. Shantelle’s breathing grew ragged.
“Sean, I—”
“Keep going,” I urged.
We turned a corner. A dilapidated building loomed.
“In here,” I said. Shantelle nodded, and we burst through the door.
Seven awaited, concern etched on his face.
“Thanks for getting us out,” Shantelle said.
I smiled. “No thanks needed.”

“Rachel’s getting desperate. We need a plan.”
I nodded. “Agreed.”
