Shantelle’s POV
“Hi, Keshon,” I said. She wasn’t looking at me, but I could see Reginald trying his best to leave the bed so he could speak to her.
He stopped trying immediately when he saw me. He didn’t want me to know what was going on, and I knew I didn’t show on my face that I had heard or knew what had just happened.
That was how I planned to let it be.
“Hi, Shantelle,” she said, trying her best to make sure that I didn’t see the tears she was trying so hard to hide.
“I have to go.” She didn’t wait for me to say anything; she left without glancing back.
Was this the right time to ask Reginald what he had done or just feign ignorance and not talk about what I had just seen? Maybe that would be best.
The nurse who had passed by previously was back to check his vitals. It was better to let it go until he thought he was able to talk about it.
