Marissa left the door and moved further into the office, looking everywhere but directly at Bernard. "You disconnected the call from her. I don't think she will be pleased with you."

"No, she wouldn't."

She trailed her hand on his well-stocked book shelf. "She will be very pissed at you."

"Very," Bernard said as he stood up from his chair and came around to the front of his desk. He leaned against it nonchalantly while his whole body hummed with anticipation. Bernard put on her pastel-colored suit skirt and tight-fitting jacket. She had her head up as she read the titles of his books that were displayed for easy access. When she stretched up to remove one particular bok that seemed to have caught her eye, Bernard's tiredness vanished. He knew he should go over to help her, but he was enjoying the show too much to give it up for being gentlemanly. Etiquette could wait. Her position just so made an image flash in Bernard's mind's eye, and he quickly averted his eyes
