Chapter 188. Drunk on Your Love
“Ugh, it felt like I had been drinking,” she thought as she opened her eyes and quickly shut them as the morning light seemed to be solely focused on her eyes. She panicked for a moment when she couldn't lift her limbs, but then she looked at her side and saw Bernard’s eyes closed in sleep, and she relaxed.
Marissa remembered how they had both ended up on the couch and what had happened the night before. She couldn't believe that she had all that bottled up inside. She cannot remember if she has ever cried like that before. Even though Evelyn had died, she had been too busy trying to get the hang of raising a child to sit around and mope. Marissa sighed in resignation.
“It seems I am always embarrassing myself one way or another in front of this man,” she thought.
“One simple question and you have already turned a watering pot; you need to get a grip, girl.” Her subconscious added salt to her injury.
