“Okay then,” Bernard said when he realized from the look in Marissa’s eyes that she wouldn’t budge. “I would drop you at home first.”

“But my bleeding mouth... I am in so much pain right now,” she said as she feigned a grimace of pain. “I am sure that Marissa wouldn’t mind taking a cab just to ensure that I get the instant treatment that I needed. Right, Marissa?” she said with an innocent, enquiring look at Marissa, deliberately using her name again so she could get angry.

Bernard got annoyed “I see that you would like to go wait outside to get a cab to the clinic yourself,” he said with anger at his spoiled plans for the night. “And would you please let go of my arm?”

She shut her mouth and released his arm before hurrying after him as Marissa stalked out ahead of them.
