Chapter 253. Some Breathing Space
Bernard felt as if his heart would leave his chest as he saw his wife go down amid the chaos. A moment ago, when he had been watching the crazy clip of his neighbour and a man that had his face, he had started sweating even though the air conditioning in the courtroom was in prime condition. But seeing Rissa go down like that, he broke out in a cold sweat as he tried to pull the lever on the witness box to get it to open, but it stuck.
Bernard jumped over his witness box and rushed to the other side, climbing right over hers without even thinking that her box lever might not be stuck.
