“I don’t ever want to leave you,” Marissa said as she leaned against him.

“Nor do I” Bernard replied as he toyed with the belt of her green muslin gown. She looked so beautiful and radiant just like the swans on the lake they loved to stroll by. Seeing her every day whenever he wanted to make him so happy. He never wanted to stop feeling like this, he never wanted to leave her side. Yet… his eyes went to her flat tummy accentuated by the cinched waistline of the gown. He needed to remember something.

“Why do I feel like you want me to go?” Marissa said suddenly.

“What? How could you think that? Are you not happy here with me?” he asked in worry as he raised her head to look in her face.
