Chapter 71. A Web of Lies

Wilson’s heart raced as he faced Rowan. It was obvious that he was boiling. He quickly gathered his composure and tried to appear calm despite the panic that was coursing through him.

“Rowan, what are you doing here at this hour?” Wilson asked, attempting to sound surprised but composed. “It’s been ages since you have been here.”

Rowan with a furrowed brow and a stern expression. “You were in my house that day to see Amanda, you went into her room to threaten her? How dumb can you be to think she would leave me because you asked her to.”

Wilson pretended as if he knew nothing about the allegation. “What are you talking about? I was in your house that day to set things right. I apologized to you. What is this all about man?” Wilson asked.

“Come on Wilson, quit the pretense. How did you know the day I was talking about if you don’t understand what I am accusing you of?”
