Chapter 10
I never had anything planned, to tell the truth. My life was summed up to getting up at a decent hour, going for a walk, having breakfast, writing—at times made out of habit—cooking, and writing again. Sometimes, when I got tired of writing, I would maybe watch a movie or my regular series, listen to music or sort out my finances, talk to my editor, go for a walk again, or go to bed to read or sleep. From time to time, I liked to play video games on my laptop, a vice I have had since I was a child.
I was alone, and technically I had nothing to do. Suddenly, the idea of feeling useful to them seemed impossible to reject. I don’t know why. I was clear that I didn’t want to and didn’t need to continue meddling in his affairs, but—
