And that new freedom led me by the hand to go wild, to feel.
I rested my chin on her shoulder, to take a few minutes. I felt so good. I remembered the first time we really sat down to talk about it; it wasn’t a comfortable moment for either of us. She was a little worried about the possibility that I wanted to take her in my semi-animal form, something neither of us wanted in any way. That conversation ended in laughter, between the sheets, when we came to understand each other.
I didn’t tell her the stories I knew about it; I didn’t want to scare her. I also didn’t know if they were entirely true to begin with.
“I envy you. It must be great that it lasts so long like this,” Johanna whispered in my ear.
Her languid fingers caressed the back of my neck in a most relaxing gesture. She could barely contain her heavy breathing, but our hearts calmed in unison; each other’s closeness did that kind of thing.
