Chapter 26

I only watched as Lauren left. I was just too dumbfounded to say anything.

“Both of them. You are quite quick witted. You will hear from my lawyer soon.” Those words rang in my head over and over again. I could not get those words she said out of my head, it was as if what she told me was stuck in my head.

Why did she not believe me? I thought we were close enough to trust each other. Even if we did not marry for love, we were at least legally married couple.

There was no marriage contract between us either. How can she call our barely one month old marriage quit?

I thought we liked each other to bear each other and believe each other but it seems I was wrong.

Only I felt that way.

“This won’t do!” I told myself as I stopped pacing. I could not sit as I kept pacing around the room with different thoughts flooding in my head.
