Chapter 45. In a Houseboat With Him

After college, Nick and Iris went to Sterling Plaza to work like before. Their uncle Benjamin called them to congratulate them, having heard of the news from their ma in the morning. It was 6 o'clock in the evening when they were finally free. They went home to find their ma excitedly planning their wedding with aunt Hannah and aunt Patty.

"Your wedding date's fixed for the 8th. There are two weeks to prepare. We've booked Bernie's ranch for three days," informed their ma. "It's the next Sunday to this one. You will have to miss college for a day or two."

"We're preparing the guest list. Freshen up and then give us the names of your guests, " said aunt Hannah.

"I would have to call dad and inform him about the wedding, " said Iris.

"Okay, call him up. You can also call your mom in New York. I'm sure she'd want to attend, " said aunt Pauline. Iris nodded and went upstairs to her room to freshen up and change. Nick sat cuddling Duffy who wouldn't leave him. Pi
