Chapter 47. All Problems Solved

The news changed their world. Everything they had planned needed a change. The case would be an uncontested one. The lawyers were more relaxed as they had a brief discussion. Robbie was inconsolable as he considered himself responsible for his father’s death. 

Since it was an uncomplicated case, Nate informed me at home that he didn’t need help with the legal proceedings. So his family canceled their tickets. With time at hand, Claire completed the legal formalities, and finally, the bakery was transferred to Francis’s name. He paid Claire generously. 

“Although I would have loved to work with you, I understand your point. I wish you a lot of happiness in life. May you have a happy wedded life. Don’t forget to drop by if you two ever come to New York in the future,” said Francis. He gave both Claire and Nate a hug, and they hugged him back.

“All the best to you as well. Surely we’ll meet again,” said Nate.
