Chapter 46. Sorted

“Hi, how have you been, Claire? I can see the ring on your finger. So are you married to Nate now?” asked Francis as he walked inside with a warm smile on his face, taking everyone by surprise. 

Claire smiled while Nate got up to welcome him inside, wondering what the visit was all about. At the court, they had hardly spoken to one another. 

“Hello, Francis! This is a surprise. Yes, we got married last week,” said Claire, looking a little apprehensive. 

“That’s sad. I was hoping to whisk you away, now that I’m better,” said Francis with a laugh. Nate didn’t like the joke while the others smiled. 

“Why don’t you come inside, Francis?” asked his mom. Nate led him inside, and they all sat down. 

“So how did the accident happen?” asked Claire. The next few minutes Francis explained how Chris had caused the accident and how he was saved. 

“So, when are you guys returning to New York?” Francis asked Nate. 

“We’ve
