Chapter 68. Heading Home to Patch Up
“Yes, but maybe you don’t remember us at all. Still, I thought you should know that your dad had a heart attack last night and was admitted to the hospital. If you want to see him, you’re most welcome to come home. I won’t complain if you don’t come. I just want you to stay happy and alive,” said her mom, and disconnected the call before she could even think of a reply. Andrea stared at the phone as her mom's words echoed in her head. She just couldn’t believe that her dad was in the hospital. Since childhood, she had seen her dad as a pillar, giving other's support. She didn’t remember him falling sick enough to be hospitalized and now, when he was, she felt her heart constricting with pain. Despite what he did to her, she knew he loved her in his own way. It was an orthodox type of love, but it was always there. He was always more concerned about her welfare than the rest of the family.
