Chapter 40. A Good Night

Vincent’s POV

“I’m glad you and Carmela is getting along fine but I don’t want you to be closer to her than me.”

When we reach in front of her bedroom I decided to let go of her hand in order to open her door. “What are you talking about? Carmela is a woman and she is very nice and kind why would you say something like that?”

Her eyes turns wide while staring at me like I just told her to do something awful. “Come inside Ashley get some sleep, I will stay and watch you until you close your eyes.”

I step inside and urge her to move when she just stood still at the door frame. “No! don’t stay. I have to get a quick shower and I can sleep alone. I don’t need someone watching me in my sleep.”

“I am not asking for your permission Ash, now if you need to get a shower go ahead while I stay in the couch and wait.”
