Chapter 60. A Wise Decision

Ashley’s POV

“She needs rest, her body is fighting hard because of the silver toxin which affected her blood and the inner organs. Let’s wait for three days, and hopefully, she wakes up.”

While Vincent and I are seated on the couch outside the bedroom of the Alpha King where Maleficus has brought Carmela to treat her. We waited patiently for hours until the old man came out and told us about her situation. The Alpha King is still inside, I don’t even want to think how upset he is. Somewhere deep inside of me, I blame myself for not being able to help her.

“I’m sorry love, I could have done something.”

I squeeze his hand while he sits still in silence. He is facing the old man, who is standing in front of us and it is difficult for me to read him.
