Chapter 44. What Lies Ahead

A few days have passed after the death of Freyah. Maleficus took care of her funeral and prayed for the forgiveness of her sins. No one from the wolves attended or even mourned for her, specially that the pack warriors knew what she did to me before she died. It was clear to everyone in the pack that she was a traitor like Matias did.

King Alpha Jack wanted her body to just be burnt into ashes and nothing more, but Maleficus beg for her burial. And I vouched for it to happen, as I still couldn’t believe that I had killed her. At the back of my mind my conscience is screaming and if not for the fact that it was a self-defense then I would have let myself be punished.
