Chapter 43. A Promise of Safety

Carmela’s POV

The last thing I remember before everything went black is looking at her bloody figure. And her eyes staring back at me with the color as red as blood and her face tarnished from my claws. I have no feeling of pity or regret from what I have done, instead my heart is full of remorse. My heart throbs and gushes blood from the silver knife that she stabbed me, then I heard Gemer’s voice together with the pack warriors. And that’s when I had lost the remaining bits of my consciousness.

I heard voices around me but I am too weak to open my eyes. I could feel the presence of my mate the King Alpha closer to where I am lying down. Knowing I have defied his orders made me a little anxious to wake up. Then I heard Maleficus who’s talking to the pack doctors and telling them not to worry and they can all go home.

I’m still alive, for that I am so thankful to the Moon Goddess and the pack’s warriors who get to me in time. My heart is less painf
